Aromatherapy Oils
Aromatherapy Oils, or 'Essential Oils', are extracted from plants and they smell of a whole range of wonderful scents. Rose essential oil, for example, does indeed smell of the flower we see in summer gardens, whereas Pine reminds us of Scottish forests. Aromatherapy oils are used to treat emotional as well as physical symptoms, but they are not to be drunk. Frequently applied to the skin in the form of massage oils, bath milks, body lotions etc, essential oils are also often used very effectively in a Vaporiser / Diffuser to fragrance a room for enjoyment as well as for therapeutic purposes, such as Eucalyptus can aid breathing if you have a cold.

Bach Flower Remedies
Dr Edward Bach, Harley Street Physician and Homeopath, created the Bach Flower Remedies as a profound system of healing that addresses the emotional imbalances we can all suffer from in life. The list is endless, but includes everything from small fears, over-protectiveness or a lack of confidence, to depression, anxiety or trauma. Many physical illnesses are now thought to be influenced by -or even brought on by- a patient's state of mind and emotional well-being, so a happy and balanced outlook can be key. By dealing with unhelpful emotions, a patient's recovery from physical illness can also be significantly speeded up.

There are 38 Bach Flower Remedies plus the well-known Rescue Remedy, which contains a mixture of Impatiens, Star of Bethlehem, Cherry Plum, Rock Rose and Clematis.  Life Focus offers you a qualified Bach practitioner who will be able to advise you on a Treatment Bottle containing a mixture of remedies specific to your current circumstances. All of the remedies should be diluted in a drink and sipped regularly throughout the day.

The Bach Flower Remedies are often confused with Aromatherapy, but they are very different and don't really smell of anything even though they are made from the flowers that give them their names - Wild Rose, for example, smells no different to Pine.

Bath and Massage Oil (Aromatherapy Blend)
Aromatherapy Oils
have strong scents and are often unsafe to use undiluted, so a few drops are added to a bland 'carrier oil' to create a fragrant and safe dilution in our Blends. This carrier oil could be, for example, Grapeseed, Almond, Jojoba, Avocado or Soya, but all of these are highly suitable for massage and for moisturising the skin. Whether you use it in the Bath or as an aid to Massage, you will receive therapeutic benefit from the smell and the active ingredients in the oils.

Bath Milk
Aromatherapy Oils have strong scents and are often unsafe to use undiluted, so to create our Bath Milk Blends, a few drops are added to a bland, natural base. There are no animal products used - only the oils and this light, dispersible base, which delicately clouds and textures your Bathing. As the Blend surrounds you, you will receive therapeutic benefit from the smell and the active ingredients in the oils.

Vaporiser / Diffuser
There are many ways to release the scent of Aromatherapy Oils into the air to fragrance a room. Possibly the most common is a china 'burner' made of two compartments; a lower part into which a lit nightlight candle is placed and an upper part comprising a saucer containing water and a few drops of the desired essential oils. The heat from the candle gradually diffuses the oil and water in a gentle steam.

More recently, electrical vaporisers such as the Aromastone have been gaining in popularity. Essential oils (and often water) are dropped onto a large ceramic saucer, which plugs into the wall and heats safely and gently; these are often preferred by families with small children!
